ADULT SWIM CLASSES
BEGINNER COURSE DESCRIPTION
Swim lessons are held once a week in the evening for one hour. When you begin your swim lessons you are in water so shallow (4 feet) you can stand up if you so choose. We provide and fit you with a FREE safety vest. Additionally, we provide a FREE snorkel mask, and fins. Using a fully inflated safety vest means you cannot sink, like training wheels on a bicycle. Next, with the confidence that you cannot sink. We will teach you to use your arms and legs for propulsion. We want you to focus on your arm and leg movements prior to mastering breathing. As you progress at your own pace, you will soon be able to start releasing some of the air from the safety vest. In time, at your own pace, you will begin swimming independently of the equipment.
SWIM TEACHER
-Certification Courses-
Baby & Me Swim Teacher
It takes a special person with a special love of children to teach a baby swim class, so Swim Schools International offers a program for teaching only babies under 3 years of age. Focus is less on swimming at this age, and more about comfort and safety in and around the water. Primarily, our certified teachers learn how to instruct the parents on what to do in the water with their children and offered structured play to reduce fear and increase comfort in the water.

Level 1 Swim Teacher
A teacher certified with the credentials for a Level 1 Swim Teacher is ready and able to teach beginner swimmers, from 3 years of age all the way up to adult.

Level 2 Swim Teacher
Prerequisite: Level 1 Swim Teacher
The Level 2 Swim Teacher picks up in instruction where the Level 1 Swim Teacher leaves off. At this level, emphasis is placed on technical perfection of the strokes themselves, and introduces the swimmers to competitive strokes and endurance swimming.

Adult Swim Teacher
Prerequisite: Level 1 Swim Teacher
Prerequisite: Level 2 Swim Teacher
Certified Adult Teachers do just that - teach adults to swim. Which means the challenges of teaching and the dynamics of the classes will be vastly different from teaching children. Our Teacher training and certification reflects these differences and provides the option of expanding an aquatic training facility's options to include a completely different market - the adult non-swimmer.
